Reminiscing Vaynor Estate

Join us as we reminisce days in the field and take a look across our exclusive sporting estates and eagerly await the upcoming season.

This week we take a short drive to Vaynor Park, a quintessential Welsh Estate.  This naturally carved landscape is the jewel in our crown. A diverse estate where one moment you can find yourself standing in deep open valleys and the next in picturesque traditional parkland. Vaynor offers spectacular pheasant and partridge, driven across open parkland from ancient woodlands. Looked upon by the impressive stately home set deep amongst the Oak woods.

Iconic drives include Hanging WoodMiddle House and recent additions such as Cataphel are forging reputations for towering pheasants and explosive partridges driven over a deep, wide valley.

'Vaynor provides the perfect combination of excellent sport in a lovely environment, amongst people who have been our friends for years!'

Sara Chantler

"I've been at Vaynor for 26 years. I was always fond of the estate, since days spent beating here in my teens.  After working for six years on two other estates, I jumped at the chance when I was offered the position of Beat Keeper at Vaynor.  When Bettws took on the estate, I took on the position of Head Keeper and it has been a real privilege to see the estate go from strength to strength and being part of it." Andrew Jones

Guns can enjoy elevenses at the shepherds hut, taking in panoramic views with food cooked fresh in the field, whilst warming by the log fire on a colder day!

The day is concluded opposite the magnificent ornamental 15th-century Jacobean mansion house owned by William Corbett Winder, where Christine cooks up some of the finest shoot lunches.
