Charities Supported

As a family-run business in the heart of Bettws, we know the importance of community spirit and giving back. In our 35+ years of perfecting the art of shooting, we have seen first-hand the enormous generosity our amazing industry and clients have shown in coming together to support.

Each season, we choose a special charity that is close to our hearts to raise funds for. Our chosen charity for the 2023/24 season was:

The Lingen Davies Cancer Fund is committed to supporting cancer services for the people of Shropshire, Telford and Mid Wales.

Started in 1979 by Bernard Lingden, then Mayor of Shrewsbury, and local accountant Frank Davies, the charity has contributed around £18 million in today's prices to improve cancer services in the local area. The Fund estimates that around 75,000 people have had their cancer treatment and care improved through the impact of the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund.

The charity has maintained a commitment to supporting excellent local services and ensuring that people in our community are given the best possible support when facing cancer.

£59,285 RAISED FOR THE NHS CHARITIES TOGETHER

During the Clap for Heroes one Thursday evening during the March 2020 lockdown, Bettws Hall Directors Gwyn & Ann Evans decided that more than a clap was deserved for our amazing NHS staff.

By donating a 400 bird day at Vaynor Park for the 2020/21 season, the spirit and generosity of the shooting community shone through beyond anyone's expectations. Our target of £50,000 was smashed with a grand total of £59,285 being handed over during a socially-distanced presentation on the eve of a second Welsh lockdown in October 2020.

£37,659 RAISED FOR THE LINGEN DAVIES FUND

During the course of the 2021/22 - 2023/24 seasons, the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund was our chosen shoot season charity with a number of extra events raising funds for a cause incredibly close to the heart at Bettws.

Through our 'White Pheasant Raffle', 'Amy's Bike Ride' and the incredible generosity of our shooting clients, the whole community came together to raise a grand total of £25,340.

Helen Knight of Lingen Davies kindly advised the amount raised helped the foundation take a huge step toward paying for a new CT Scanner.

£25,730 RAISED FOR TEAM GRACE SUPPORTING THE LILY FOUNDATION

The Lily Foundation was brought to our attention through the struggles of a close friend to our Sales Director, Richard Crofts, when they lost their little girl Grace.

In 2018 the Team at Bettws Hall competed in The Wolf Run, raising £25,730 whilst smashing the target of £3,000.

The Lily Foundation was founded in memory of another little girl, Lily, having lost her battle to Mitochondrial Disease at just eight months old. The charity aims to give hope, answers and support to the many other children and families that face the challenges of this disease today.
