Ruff and Tumble: Born from the Muddy Norfolk Coast
The Ruff and Tumble story began over a decade ago on a kitchen table in Norfolk, born out of a simple necessity: a better way to manage wet, muddy dogs. Founder Alison Priestley, an avid coastal walker, was frustrated by the flimsy, ill-fitting synthetic drying coats available on the market. She envisioned a solution that prioritized both a dog’s comfort and a owner's convenience. By combining high-quality natural materials with thoughtful tailoring, Alison created the original Ruff and Tumble Drying Coat. What started as a personal solution for sandy, soggy spaniels quickly gained attention on the beach, evolving into a world-renowned family business dedicated to making life easier for outdoor-loving dogs and their owners.
The Gold Standard in Dog Drying: Signature Double-Layer Cotton
What sets Ruff and Tumble apart as a market leader is their commitment to "The Science of Drying." Unlike microfibre or synthetic alternatives, every Ruff and Tumble coat features a unique double layer of premium natural cotton towelling. The inner layer actively wicks moisture away from the dog’s fur, while the dog's own body heat pushes that moisture through to the outer layer, preventing them from sitting in a cold, damp coat. This design not only dries the dog in record time but also helps keep joints warm and protected. From their adjustable Velcro fastenings to the signature deep "hoody" collar that dries soggy ears, Ruff and Tumble products offer a bespoke-feeling fit that ensures your dog stays cozy, dry, and clean after every adventure.
