Shooting at Vaynor

Vaynor Park

We are delighted to announce that Vaynor Park is a new shoot for the 2007 season and we proudly offer days shooting there. Situated in the gorgeous Montgomeryshire countryside in the Welsh Borders the shoot surrounds the impressive stately home of Mr. & Mrs. William Corbett-Winder.

The shoot combines traditional rolling parkland which gives way to deep valleys with strategically positioned cover crops. All this, combined with the natural topography of the countryside, sets the scene for a truly spectacular days shooting with challenging, high and fast pheasants.

The impressive drive through the grounds to the converted stables where the shoot party meets for morning coffee gives a wonderful view of the house and gardens. After coffee, pegs are drawn and the briefing is given by the Shoot Host. Guests then proceed to the court yard where their loaders await ready for the day ahead. Once the introductions have been made to the loaders and the guns and cartridges organised guests proceed to the first drive of the day.

At Vaynor we usually shoot three drives in the morning, breaking for Champagne and soup between drives. Then a gorgeous lunch is served at the stables followed by one or two drives in the afternoon. At the end of the day tea and cakes are served whilst we wait for the Head Keeper to announce the bag.

Vaynor Park is a truly superb shoot which once visited will draw it’s guests back time and time again.
