Over the years we have reared a wide variety of pheasants for our own estates and also our customers. Birds have been sourced from France, Poland, America and of course the UK. However, despite our search for the ‘perfect’ pheasant our numerous breeding trials have returned, quite simply, to the Common Ring Neck. In our opinion the Common Ring Neck offers the best all round characteristics, such as flight, hardiness, hold-ability and taste!
However, we appreciate that each Head Keeper has his or her own personal favourite and to that end we also offer Black Neck and Bazanty Pheasants too.
We hope the information here will give you an insight into our facilities. However, if you are thinking of ordering chicks from Bettws Hall then we would be delighted to show you around our Hatchery as well.
