This year the CLA Game fair was held at Harewood House in Leeds from Friday the 31st of July, until Sunday August the 2nd. After weeks (months) of preparation, we were ready to hoist the flags and welcome our guests on Friday with a Champagne Reception.
A warm, dry afternoon and our saxophone jazz band created the perfect ambiance for a relaxing gathering. Our guests indulged in a taste of the tremendous hospitality for which Bettws Hall has become widely known. Merriment and discussions of the forth coming season were the order of the day.
The weather was not so kind to us on the Saturday, after a dry morning, the rain came down in buckets…big buckets! However, spirits were not dampened and although there was obviously less foot fall than last year, there was a steady stream of people coming to visit.
The CLA Game Fair is a fantastic day out for the family and is still the largest showcase for countryside sports in the UK.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Holland and Holland and Boxall and Edmiston for allowing some of their beautiful guns to be displayed on our stand and to The Bespoke Furniture Company for the magnificent cabinet in which they were displayed.
Of course, another thank you to all who came to visit us and in turn, to those who invited us to your parties, it was a pleasure catching up with you all…….and we’re still recovering.
